PMAT expands Navy partnership with Big Data Analytics Phase II SBIR award

Feb 23, 2021

Norfolk, VA–Feb 23, 2021— PMAT today announced it has been awarded a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase II contract to continue its development of the Maritime Situational Awareness – Deep Learning Aggregated Reference Knowledgebase (MSA-DARK) – an adaptable, scalable, and secure AI/ML software platform that will leverage big data from the Minotaur Family of Services (MFoS) Tactical All-Source Repository (TASR) and other Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) data sources internal and external to MFoS to improve Maritime Situational Awareness (MSA).  PMAT will begin prototyping the solution based on its Phase I concept that utilizes Machine Learning algorithms to mine big data sources for information that C5ISR applications can use to improve analysts’ operating efficiency by fusing tactical sensors with national data to support synchronized actions in the maritime environment and provide coherent battlespace awareness.  “The innovative aspect of PMAT’s approach is the layered use of AI/ML models to achieve more complex analyses spanning a broader range of data sources while also improving the tactical relevance of any findings from those analyses.”
