Purchasing Administrator


Programs Management Analytics & Technologies (PMAT), Inc., is a Small Business (SB) that was established in 2007.

PMAT is seeking an enthusiastic, self-reliable, and detail-oriented Purchasing Administrator. The Purchasing Administrator has the duty to monitor the company’s purchasing process from start to finish, gather and analyze purchase requests, process purchase orders, and resolve issues should they arise. They must also negotiate with vendors and suppliers, building positive relationships. They also perform market research, obtaining the best deals and quality standards for the company and ensuring timely delivery of products and materials.   


Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Assist Purchasing Manager in purchasing department oversight
  • Ensure the purchasing process is followed from inception to completion
  • Perform vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reduce operating costs and boost efficiency
  • Obtain vendor profiles, ensuring legitimacy of vendors
  • Maintain vendor and subcontractor files, maintaining purchase records
  • Establish and maintain cordial working relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activities
  • Create, review and sign purchasing agreements with vendors• Negotiate terms and agreements and monitor performance
  • Manage and create purchasing reports for program management and management
  • Oversee shipping schedules, tracking timely deliveries• Implement effective purchasing procedures for internal forms and processes
  • Coordinate/arrange employee travel, following established guidelines• Provide purchasing system training/assistance to all employees
  • Provide administrative support to business operations


Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to self-manage
  • Supply chain management experience 
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Proficiency with the Unanet system
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proficiency with Excel and Adobe
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including MS Excel and MS PowerPoint 


Work Environment 


The work environment is primarily at a PMAT office. Remote work is also acceptable depending on location and access to a PMAT office.
