INTERN OR ENTRY LEVEL SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Location:  Northern Virginia

Position Background:  Programs Management Analytics and Technologies (PMAT), Inc. is currently looking to add a Systems Engineer (Entry-level) to a fast moving, game changing Department of Defense program. The successful candidate will participate in the development of system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents. Provide technical support for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware/software systems to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing interface standards, contributing to the refinement of system architectures, and performing technical/non-technical studies and assessments. Assist with operational views, technical standards views, and system and services views for architectures using applicable DoDAF standards. Support the planning and test analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process (as well as other Government Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes.

Primary Role: As a contributing member of the Systems Engineering Team, work with the Lead Systems Engineer in the technical design, development, integration, test and fielding of the next generation C5ISR systems for PMAT’s DoD customers. Duties will include

  • participating in the agile development and integration activities,
  • performing systems analyzes to include functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies,
  • conduct of requirements allocation
  • preparation, review and conduct of system design review packages,
  • preparation, review, and conduct of verification, and validation plans and procedures
  • identification and documentation of system, subsystem, and module interfaces,
  • research, identification and procurement of hardware and software components.

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with SysML / MBSE tool sets (CAMEO, Capella, Enterprise Architect, etc).
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
